I’m Back!

By | November 13, 2014

After a very long hiatus from online dating I’ve decided to get back into it. I’m immediately questioning why.

You’re doing it wrong…

By | November 21, 2013

Sometimes I just want to send a message to a guy to tell him what he’s doing wrong. They’d be totally cool with that, right?

I just read a profile that seemed promising and then he referred to his potential mate as a “chick.” Your profile is there for you to impress a woman. What makes you think that referring to a woman as a chick is going to impress them?? They’re obviously not thinking which is the problem.

How to turn off a girl. Tip #243

I actually have a lot to write about but not so much time on my hands now. Let me hold you over with this bit of advice… Never ever tell a woman, “I can’t wait to show you off to my friends.” This should go without saying but said woman is NOT a prize or a possession for you to “show off.”

Needless to say the opportunity to show me off to his friends will never come.

Last week…

By | October 28, 2013

…I scheduled three dates in one week with three different men. This is a first for me. To be honest, I’m not really a fan of it. It’s exhausting and nerve-wracking. I don’t understand women who can schedule 6 dates a week and sometimes more than one a day. I supposed I’ll get used to it but I’m not really sure I want to get used to it.

Instead of telling you about the first date, lets’ skip ahead to the end. I went home with a hickey on my neck. Are you effin’ kidding me HOW old are we? (He is my age.) I was pissed and I was sure to let him know. And just for those wonder why I would let that happen… It really happened so fast. By the time I realized what was happening, told him to stop, plus the typical 5+ seconds it took him to actually stop, it was all too late. Gah! I am still mad about it one week later.  Not just because a 38 year old should not be walking around with a hickey but I also had a date the next day.

The next date was actually very pleasant. We had a good flow of conversation entire night. Unfortunately, there was no spark. I haven’t heard from him since which I hadn’t expected. So be it.

And finally my third date was cancelled. Not before I went through my morning freak out about what I was going to wear, how I was going to do my makeup, etc… I went through all the prep and there wasn’t even a beer to show for it.

flirt

I’m 99% sure you’re flirting* with me because you liked my photos. So why am I denied the privilege of seeing photos of you? I don’t believe that tired line that you don’t want anyone in “real” life recognizing you on an online dating site. If someone does then they’re on one, too. Who cares?  Also, why does it have to be something that makes you feel ashamed? If it is maybe this isn’t right for you. If Greg Louganis and Martha Stewart can put their photos up there, you can too. Unless of course you’re hiding something… you know, like a wife.

*Clicking on a button that sends someone a winking emoticon is not in any way flirting. It’s a cop-out.

Just don’t…

Whooooa! Slow down cowboy! We’re already moving too fast!

I’m not sure if guys write stuff like this because they think it’s what a woman wants to hear or if they genuinely feel this way. However, just as I would not express my desire for a serious relationship that could lead to marriage to a man because of the fear he’ll run for the hills, you should not express this to a woman for the same reason. Let’s just start with a conversation and then see where that leads us.

I’m Spunky!

By | October 17, 2013

Hi there
I have to say you have a very nice smile. You have a spunky playful look too..the type of person who when in a feisty playful mood is apt to pin her guy down sit on his chest and stay there until you have made your point lol

This is a little creepy, right? It’s not just me?

In the event of an apocalypse…

By | October 16, 2013

This is a message from a 20-year-old:

If there was a nuclear apocalypse where only Jessica Alba and I survived and we were tasked with repopulating the world I would kill myself rather than force myself to fornicate with her because I know that our offspring would look like leprosy stricken monstrosities compared to the potential ones that could be made by a heavenly blessed beauty like yourself

At least it gave me a laugh. I think I might start sending this same message to men. What do you mean and Jessica Alba and I cannot procreate?
